At Iles and Jenkin we know that when you've made up your mind to sell your property, it's a time for you to make the right decisions and choices; you are selling your most valuable asset so it's important that the people helping you to achieve your goals are the very best for the job.

You've chosen a great Estate Agent (hopefully Iles and Jenkin!), now it's time to instruct a Solicitor, sometimes referred to as a Conveyancer or Conveyancing Solicitor.

Over the past 20 years we've dealt with hundreds of them, some very good, some (sadly) very bad, mostly they're somewhere in between. However, the decision on which to use really can be the difference between a property deal going through or the sale collapsing further down the line.

We passionately believe that a good Solicitor will help everyone involved in the buying or selling process remain calm and well informed and so increase the chances of a successful outcome.

In our opinion, the three main points to consider when choosing a solicitor to handle your sale are:

1. Communication: Will they update you regularly or will they even return YOUR calls? Do they needlessly insist on replying in writing to by letter every time, or are they up to speed with modern technology and will they send you email updates?

2. Clarity: Does their quote include disbursements? These add-on fees can really mount up! Be clear on what you are going to pay and most importantly will they still charge you, even if your sale (or purchase) falls through?

3. Customer Care: Do they have a good track record? Do they have testimonials that they share willingly? Ask your friends and family for referrals - or call and speak with us!
